The Climate Action Salad!

Well it has certainly been interesting times!  But for those following our work, rest assured that the Climate Action Garden persevered.

Below are pictures that show how the garden was taken to Mr. Davidge's guest room at the start of the COVID-19 school closure.

Last week on April 16, the garden was harvested.  Mr. Davidge and his family enjoyed a salad made of beans, onions and spinach.  YUM!

The Climate Leadership Team is to be commended for their volunteer efforts in promoting locally-grown, low-emission food production.  You are all climate action heroes.

All the seeds are transplanted

Today we transplanted the onion and spinach seeds.  All are now set up in planters in the Learning Commons.

This site is to document the activities of the Willow Park Climate Leadership team.

The Willow Park 2019-20 Climate Leadership Team

We began by attending the Riverwatch Climate Leadership Conference on Friday, November 29 at the City of Calgary Water Centre.

From that conference, we determined two main action items:

1) To facilitate an eco-art contest for the grade fives.

2) To create a window garden for the Learning Commons.

Stay tuned for more details as we move forward!
